Dr. Kuperschmit has performed over 1000 laparoscopic extra-peritoneal hernias, using the pre-peritoneal balloon dissection device covering Arlington, Virginia, Reston, Virginia, and the metro Washington D.C. area.

Dr. Kuperschmit served as the Chairman for the Department of Surgery at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA, from 1999-2006.

Dr. Kuperschmit’s method of laparoscopic hernia surgery greatly reduces the amount of pain normally associated with open techniques of hernia surgery such as “plug and patch.”
